Product Details

The Alpinestars SM3 Youth Wurx Helmet is anatomically engineered specifically for youth and younger riders, bringing technology developed for Alpinestars' adult helmets into a lightweight youth-specific platform. Its thermo-injected shell uses an advanced impact-resistant polymer blend with varying shell thicknesses to balance protection and weight.

Inside, a multi-density EPS liner places the appropriate impact-absorbing density in key areas. The inner and outer surfaces are engineered to help minimize the effects of oblique impacts, while Alpinestars' patented system is designed to reduce rotational acceleration transmitted to the rider's head. An Emergency Release System allows the cheek pads to be safely removed while the helmet is still being worn.

Ten air inlets and seven exhaust ports maximize ventilation and heat transfer, with the visor shaped to direct additional airflow into the helmet. A patented visor release system, stainless steel D-rings, integrated hydration tube channels and a soft 25 mm chin strap add rider-focused functionality. Replaceable crown and cheek pads also allow the interior fit to be customized as the young rider grows.

Features

Alpinestars has introduced a new in-house standard for the SM3 Youth to test the helmet’s chin to conditions heavier than the homologation
standard, and in order to pass the Alpinestars’ new standards, the shell thickness and the structure of the helmet design itself have both
been optimized on the chin area for superior impact performance.
Equipped with an Emergency Release System and removable cheek pads to permit the safe and easy removal of the cheek pads while the
helmet is still on, while the 3D contoured foam ensures rider comfort.
Soft textile chin strap is 25mm for optimal safety and rider comfort.
Stainless steel D-rings ensure a tight and secure fit.
The SM3 helmet conforms to both DOT certification and ECE 2206 homologation for use worldwide.
Maximized ventilation and high levels of heat transfer exchange thanks to 10 inlets and seven exhaust ports.
The visor has been designed to direct air into the ports for enhanced airflow

Sizing Info

The Alpinestars SM3 Youth Wurx Helmet is available in Youth Small, Youth Medium and Youth Large. Measure around the widest part of the rider's head, approximately one inch above the eyebrows, and compare the measurement with the Alpinestars youth helmet size chart.

The helmet should fit snugly and securely without creating painful pressure points. The cheek pads should make firm contact with the rider's cheeks, and the helmet should move with the rider's head rather than sliding or rotating independently.

Youth Medium and Youth Large share the same EPS size, allowing a Youth Medium helmet to be converted to a Youth Large fit as the rider grows by installing the appropriate replacement crown and cheek pads. Youth Small uses a dedicated smaller EPS and can be customized using replacement cheek pads.

Do not intentionally purchase an oversized youth helmet for the rider to grow into. A secure, properly fitted helmet is important for proper helmet performance.
