The GMAX MX-96 Splinter Helmet is engineered for riders who demand advanced protection, exceptional ventilation, and all-day comfort. Built around a durable yet lightweight polymer shell, the MX-96 Splinter helps reduce rider fatigue while delivering the confidence needed for motocross, trail riding, and off-road competition.

Integrated MIPS® (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) provides an additional level of protection by helping reduce rotational forces during certain angled impacts. Combined with a dual-density EPS liner, the helmet is designed to provide enhanced impact management while maintaining outstanding comfort.

The premium SpaSoft™ interior features COOLMAX® CORE moisture-wicking technology to help keep riders cool and dry throughout every ride. Charcoal bamboo fibers help reduce odor-causing bacteria, while the removable and washable comfort liner and cheek pads make it easy to keep the helmet fresh after a long day at the track.

GMAX's True Functional Ventilation (TFV) system forces fresh air through multiple intake vents, channels it through the EPS liner, and exhausts warm air through the rear vents to maximize airflow. Premium finishing touches include lightweight machined aluminum visor screws, a custom rubber trim with an integrated nose guard, stainless steel rivets and D-rings, a replaceable high-flow mouth vent, and a soft fleece helmet bag.

Sizing Info

The GMAX MX-96 Splinter features an intermediate oval fit designed to accommodate most riders. A properly fitting helmet should feel snug with even pressure around the head and secure cheek pad contact without creating uncomfortable pressure points.

Measure the circumference of your head approximately one inch above your eyebrows and compare your measurement with the GMAX size chart before ordering. The SpaSoft™ liner will naturally conform to your head after several rides, creating a more personalized fit.

To find your approximate helmet size, use a soft sewing tape measure. Start at your forehead about one inch above your eyebrows and measure around the largest portion of the back of your head. If you do not have a soft measuring tape, use a string or phone charging cord, then lay it flat and measure it with a ruler.
